I was never a fan of Patina paint, especially when you go through so many steps to create it. Jut paint it the color of the seat with some black stripes.

not to be that guy but your handrail isn't to code. you cant have the connection rod off the side like that. has to be off the bottom then a 90 degree bend and the rail has to be an inch and a half from the wall. <designs building blueprints for a living

Has a perfectly good box. takes it off and replaces it with another box. cuts out half of that box. why not just use the original box or frame it out of steel XD

Pretty cool video. I’m not mechanically inclined but it was interesting. I don’t expect to be eating pizza from their truck, I don’t expect to be near Chicago and I definitely don’t expect to be repairing an engine like that. But it was still cool and I looove pizza. Unfortunately my cardiologist would definitely have a dim view of me doing that. Guess have to sneak some into my room and eat it under the covers using my flashlight. Oh wait! Better not do that. It’s a pizza, not potato chips! ***SIGH***’oh well. Great idea to get the kids involved. Maybe you’ll teach your daughter to rebuild an engine.

What exhaust you running with the engine? Sounds great! Surprised you didn’t at least throw a different cam in it.

Marques made a comment that the F1 app for the Vision Pro does not exist yet… it actually does exist, I have had a demo of the app, but it is not public (yet). The app was developed for one of the teams and has feeds from the car with all of the measurement points (over 250 different) in real time. It has live camera feeds from the car with front/rear and the exact position of the car on the track. If someone from Marques RUclips channel contacts me, I will put them into contact with the organization that has developed the app.

Hi Austin, Do you need a diode between the starter (sometimes referred to as "R") connection and the coil? Great video's by the way. Co-incidentally, I'm wiring up the ignition of a Hyster P50A. So, I believe that where the coil connection is made to the starter, being directly to the windings of the starter motor, current can flow both from the starter to the coil, but can also flow back from the coil to the starter. We only want current in one direction, from the starter to the coil. We don't want a current from the ignition, through the ballast resistor to the coil, and then off powering the starter winding. That will happen without a diode. I see varying suggestions for that diode. Some 3 amp, 400V. Others 10 amp 250V. The voltage here refers to the reverse voltage with may be applied to the diode. The voltages nominated are quite high because of reverse spikes which can occur from the coil. It may be that some older starter motors had another set of contacts for the "R" connection. I don't know. I'm seeing in my one that "R" and the winding of the starter motor itself are connected.... Having said all this, I've just wired mine up exactly as you did. Having thought about it, then searched further on the net, I've concluded that I need the diode.

I used a limited slip Yukon on my 1977 Impala for the first time. I raised the rear of the Impala with a hydraulic jack, put it in neutral, released the parking brake, but the wheels turn too hard with my hands, is this normal for limited slip or am I having problems?

Those original gears were 2.75, not 2.73. Axle code 2 with the open diff. I have a couple 73 mustangs with that rear end I'll get around to swapping one day. And however bad you think that is, I just swapped out the factory 2.54 gears in my 82 C-10. :D
